Commonly used anti-corrosion methods for steel gates

Among the commonly used anti-corrosion methods for steel gates, the coating anti-corrosion is more commonly used. The main method of coating anticorrosion is thermal spray anticorrosion. Based on the practical experience of steel gate manufacturing, the construction method of thermal spraying of steel gate is introduced.

1. Surface treatment of steel gate

Before thermal spraying on the surface of the steel gate, the rust, oxide scale, oil, welding slag, dust, moisture and other dirt on the metal surface of the steel gate should be removed and clean, so that all the gray metal nature is revealed, and the monotonous and certain roughness should be maintained. To ensure excellent adhesion between the thermal spray coating and the substrate.

(1) Sandblasting construction requirements

The method of removing debris should be spraying or projecting. Generally, spraying is used, that is, sandblasting and rust removal.

The sandblasting machine is a sandblasting treatment equipment. Selecting appropriate abrasives under certain pressure conditions can achieve high-quality surface treatment. The operating pressure of sandblasting gas is less than 0.5MPa, equipped with 6m3/Sr air compressor. When the movable air compressor is selected, its displacement is 6m3/s, the rated pressure is 0.8MPa, and the power is 37kw. The compressed air used in sandblasting must be processed through cooling equipment and oil-water separators to ensure that the compressed air is monotonous and oil-free. It is necessary to arrange the oil-water separator regularly. When sandblasting, the nozzle size is 6-8mm. During use, the nozzle should be replaced when the diameter of the orifice increases by 25% due to wear. The distance between the nozzle and the surface of the base metal should be 100-300mm. The angle between the spray direction and the surface normal of the base metal is preferably 15°-30°. There are many kinds of abrasives used for sandblasting with different functions. Generally, quartz sand with higher strength is used. The abrasive must be monotonous before use, and the water content must not be greater than 1%, otherwise it is necessary to perform sand frying or drying. There are also requirements for the diameter of the abrasive, which is between 0.75 and 3.0 mm.

(2) Precautions for sandblasting construction

1. Sandblasting is not allowed on wet metal surfaces, and the necessary rain and moisture-proof methods should be adopted for outdoor operations.

2. It is necessary to pay attention to the temperature of the workpiece and the humidity of the air environment. When the air humidity is large or the metal surface temperature is lower than the dew point, the sandblasting should be stopped.

3. The metal surface that has been sandblasted and inspected shall be clean before transportation or anti-corrosion construction to prevent infection of water or oil impurities, and do not directly touch the metal surface with your hands to prevent partial rust; it has been infected with oil It is necessary to treat the metal surface with the corresponding organic solvent, perhaps after degreasing treatment, sandblasting from the beginning.

4. For the metal surface after sandblasting, when the air humidity is high or the surrounding chemical gas is polluted, the next process construction should be carried out within 4 hours. Under monotonous and clean environmental conditions, the next process should be carried out within 24 hours Process construction

5. Sandblasters should wear protective gear to protect their bodies from splashing abrasives; when performing anti-corrosion construction in large components after sandblasting, it is necessary to wear clean work clothes.
